Description
Stainless steel pipe 12×1.5 mm AISI 316 – increased corrosion resistance
Stainless steel round pipe AISI 316 (EN 1.4401), outer diameter 12 mm, wall thickness 1.5 mm. AISI 316 with molybdenum (2–3% Mo) is the optimal choice for corrosion-sensitive environments: saline water, chemical industry pipelines, medicine, and pharmaceuticals. The 1.5 mm wall allows for higher working pressure requirements.
Areas of application
- Marine and coastal pipelines
- Pool and SPA chlorinated water systems
- Chemical industry corrosive material lines
- Pharmaceutical and biotechnology process pipelines
- Medical gas and liquid lines

Frequently Asked Questions
Is AISI 316 suitable for chlorinated water?
Yes, AISI 316 is the standard material for pools and chlorinated water systems due to its Mo resistance to chlorides.
Is passivation required after welding?
Recommended – passivation restores the chromium oxide layer, optimizing corrosion resistance in the weld zone.
Is it suitable for seawater systems?
AISI 316 is a good choice, but for very aggressive seawater environments (hot seawater), we recommend AISI 316L or duplex steel.
