Stainless steel sheet AISI 304, thickness 0.5 mm, dimensions 1000×2000 mm, 2B surface finish – the most widely used type of stainless steel in the world with a moderately shiny, cold-rolled surface. This thin sheet is ideal for decorative, interior, and hygiene applications where lightness and aesthetics are important.
AISI 304 (EN 1.4301) contains about 18% chromium and 8% nickel – providing excellent resistance to corrosion, oxidation, and many chemicals. The 0.5 mm thickness allows for easy cutting by laser, plasma, or shears, forming on bending machines, and stamping complex-shaped products. What is the difference between 2B and polished surface?
2B is a cold-rolled surface – moderately shiny, smooth, suitable mainly for technical and hygiene purposes. Polished (e.g. 320 grit) has a decorative appearance with directional grinding lines.
Is AISI 304 suitable for outdoor conditions?
Yes, AISI 304 is suitable for indoor and protected outdoor use. In highly salty or acidic environments, we recommend AISI 316 grade.
